Sophisticated processes now mean that DHA (one of the tanning ingredients in Fake Bake which is derived from sugar beets) - is more controllable and predictable than ever before.

So here's the clever bit - our self-tanning products contain both DHA and Erythulose tanning agents. Both are naturally clear in colour and work by "tanning" the melanin cells which lie at the very top layers in your own skin - safely! The higher the levels of melanin you have, the darker your tan will be. Don't worry if you have naturally low levels of melanin though - the tanning agents will gently stimulate the production of melanin and so over the course of a few nights of applying, your tan will deepen and darken if you so desire.

With DHA and Erythulose being naturally colourless - we added a dark brown colour guide to our self tanning products so that you can easily see if you miss a spot. The colour guide is then removed after the tanning agents have developed and voila! your beautiful tan appears.
